Our wood stands out for its compact grain, balanced tannins, and complex aromas — delivering superior results for even the most demanding winemakers.

The deep connection with the forest is also found in every Vallach barrel, crafted from carefully selected Romanian oak, slowly grown in the heart of our woodlands.

Romanian oak, with its dense and straight grain, preserves the unique tradition and character of the Romanian land, climate, and soil, giving wines a refined aromatic profile and even maturation. Each barrel is thus a tribute to the forest, where human craftsmanship intertwines with the gifts of nature.

Choose from different levels of toasting, each revealing distinct aromatic profiles to complement your winemaking style.

Choose from extra or standard barrels with different density and maturation period, according to what you want to achieve.

mihaela.czipczer@unicom-group.roWe have over 20 years of experience in oak barrel production, which is why we have answers to any winemaker’s questions.
Romanian oak, matured at the 45th parallel, is well known for its straight and fine grain, contact structure and high level of tannins. The slow growth and the fine porosity contribute to the unique aroma and a gradual integration of flavors, ideal for refined wine aging.
We select Quercus petraea and Quercus robur species for their superior density and fiber. The staves are split along the grain and naturally air-dried for a minimum of 24 months, ensuring optimal aging, stability, and the preservation of the wood’s unique properties.
Our barrels are available in different toasting levels: light, medium, medium-plus, heavy. Each level is thoroughly controlled to develop a certain aromatic profile, giving winemakers the ability to achieve the desired character and complexity of the wine.
Each barrel is 100% traceable and has documentation that certifies the source and the wood processing, offering winemakers the certainty that their barrels are authentic and made from high-quality wood.
